PREPARANDO SILVER DAWN FLEADH

TEXTO Y FOTOS DE LA PROFESORA ESTER SOLETO

Due to the Silver Dawn Fleadh, the four and five years old are learning about Irish and English culture in preparation for it. This year we will be learning about literature for children by the author JULIA DONALDSON. We have chosen a beautiful story by J. Donaldson: “WHAT THE LADYBIRD HEARD”. We’re going to learn the story, the characters, the adventures and a funny song.
The 5 years old are preparing a show to all the families and the rest of the children in the school. It will be on the 12th November.
Moreover we have organized a costume workshop to prepare the 12th November costumes. Thanks to you all for participating in it.

Hemos elegido un bonito cuento de J. Donaldson: “What the ladybird heard”.

Gallinas (hens): camiseta roja.
Vacas (cows): camiseta blanca con manchas negras.
Caballos (horses): camiseta marrón.
Patos (ducks): camiseta amarilla.
Gansos (gooses): camiseta blanca.
Gatos (cats): camiseta naranja.
Perros (dogs): camiseta marrón.
Cerdos (hogs): camiseta rosa.
Ovejas (sheep): camiseta blanca.
Mariquitas (ladybirds): camiseta roja

The children might also like to practice this song in preparation for the silver dawn fleadh.

Here is a song about the Teddy Bear's Picnic which we have been learning about. The children should bring their favourite teddy to school to play games and share cooking activities. Each class has a selected day to participate in the Teddy bear's picnic, please check the Silver Dawn Fleadh program carefully!

This game will help children learn cooking vocabulary.

Parents can read more about the Teddy bear's picnic tradition here.

Silver Dawn Fleadh

The four and five year olds are learning about Irish and English culture in preparation for the Silver Dawn Fleadh. This year we will be learning about typical food (porridge) with "Goldilocks and the three bears", and "teddy bear's picnic". We will also be learning about leprechauns and play some typical games (cricket). Here are some activities which will help them practice vocabulary.
