Autumn

The five year olds have been busy with the topic of Autumn. We are learning a new hello song, a poem about October, and a new song about clothes. The activity centres this week have been:
maths: counting acorns
writing centre: a list of autumn words
the games table: alphabet puzzles
creative table: plasticine autumn trees

Now that the children are used to the different centres, the focus is on speaking as much English as possible! This week Jorge, Ismael, Natalia and Rocio have won prizes for speaking English in the activity centres. Who will win prizes next week?

This week we have begun using our science table, with leaves, chestnuts, walnuts, logs, corn and many other things for the children to investigate using magnifying glasses. When they have observed the items, they draw what they have seen. We will have another week with these objects and then they will be changed for things related to Halloween.

Los niños/as de 5 años están muy ocupados con el tema: El otoño. Están aprendiendo una nueva canción de saludo, un poema sobre octubre y una canción sobre la ropa. Los centros de actividades de esta semana han sido:

Matemáticas: Contar bellotas.

Centro de Escritura: lista de palabras de otoño.
Mesa de Juegos: puzzles de abecedarios.
Mesa de Creatividad: árboles de otoño de plastilina.

Ahora que los niños/as utilizan los diferentes centros de aprendizaje nuestro foco didáctico está

en que hablen en inglés todo lo posible. Esta semana Jorge, Ismael, Natalia y Rocío han cosneguido premios por habalr en inglés en los centros de actividades. ¿Quién ganará la próxima semana?

Esta semana, también, hemos empezado a usar la mesa de ciencias, con hojas, castañas, nueces, maíz, troncos y muchas más cosas que los niños/as tenían que investigar con lupas. Cuando terminaban la observación tenían que dibujar todo lo que habían observado. Estaremos una semana más con este tema y luego cambiaremos a objetos de Halloween.
